How We Test

Every recommendation on StackVerdict is backed by hands-on testing. Here’s exactly how we evaluate tools and reach a verdict — so you can trust the result.

1. We use the tools for real

We create real accounts (free trials and paid plans where needed), import real data, and run the workflows a marketer or founder would actually run. We don’t review from a feature page — we review from experience.

2. We score on criteria that matter

Each tool is rated on a 0–10 scale across consistent criteria, weighted by how much they affect real outcomes:

  • Ease of use — setup, learning curve, day-to-day workflow
  • Core features — depth and quality of what the category needs most
  • Performance & reliability — speed, uptime, and (for email) deliverability
  • Value for money — pricing at entry and as you scale
  • Support & onboarding — docs, responsiveness, help when it counts

The overall score is a weighted blend of these, not a simple average — the criteria that impact results most carry more weight.

3. We compare head-to-head

Tools are judged against direct competitors in the same category and use case, because “best” only means something in context. That’s why you’ll see clear picks like “best for beginners” or “best for automation”, not one generic winner.

4. We keep reviews up to date

SaaS moves fast: pricing, features and quality change. We revisit reviews and update scores, prices and verdicts as tools evolve. Each article shows when it was last updated.

5. We stay independent

We may earn an affiliate commission when you buy through our links, at no extra cost to you — but commercial relationships never influence scores or rankings. Rankings are determined by testing alone. See our editorial policy and affiliate disclosure.
