This Privacy Policy explains how StackVerdict (“we”, “us”, “our”), operating the website blog.mediabuying.ac (the “Site”), collects, uses, shares and protects your personal information when you visit or interact with the Site. It also describes the advertising, analytics and tracking technologies we use — including Google, Meta (Facebook) and other advertising partners — and the choices available to you.

By using the Site, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.

We collect the following categories of information:

a) Information you provide directly

  • Contact & communications: your name and email address when you contact us or submit a form.
  • Newsletter: your email address when you subscribe.
  • Comments: your name, email, website and comment content if you leave a comment (WordPress may also set cookies to remember these details).

b) Information collected automatically

  • Log & device data: IP address, browser type and version, operating system, referring URLs, pages viewed, date/time of access, and approximate location derived from IP.
  • Usage data: how you interact with pages, links clicked, scroll depth and similar analytics events.
  • Cookies & identifiers: as described in Section 4, including advertising identifiers used by our partners.

We do not intentionally collect sensitive personal data (e.g., health, religion, political opinions).

We use personal information to:

  • Operate, maintain and secure the Site;
  • Respond to your enquiries and provide support;
  • Send our newsletter and related emails (where you have subscribed);
  • Measure and analyse traffic and content performance;
  • Display and measure advertising, including personalised advertising where permitted;
  • Track affiliate referrals so partners can attribute qualifying purchases;
  • Prevent fraud, abuse and security incidents;
  • Comply with legal obligations.

4. Cookies & tracking technologies

We and our partners use cookies, pixels, web beacons, local storage and similar technologies. Cookies fall into these categories:

  • Strictly necessary — required for the Site to function (security, load balancing via Cloudflare, basic preferences).
  • Analytics/performance — help us understand how the Site is used (e.g., Google Analytics).
  • Advertising/targeting — used by Google, Meta and other partners to show and measure ads, including personalised ads, and to build audiences.
  • Functional — remember choices such as comment details or consent preferences.

Where required by law (e.g., in the EU/UK), advertising and non-essential analytics cookies are only set after you provide consent through our cookie banner, and you can withdraw or change your consent at any time. You can also control cookies through your browser settings; blocking some cookies may affect Site functionality.

5. Analytics (Google Analytics)

We use Google Analytics (GA4), a service provided by Google, to understand how visitors use the Site. Google Analytics uses cookies and identifiers to collect usage and device information, which may include a truncated/anonymised IP address. This information helps us improve our content and user experience.

We may display advertising and run marketing campaigns using third-party advertising partners. These partners use cookies, pixels and advertising identifiers to serve, personalise, cap and measure ads, and to build audiences and measure conversions.

Google advertising (AdSense / Google Ads / Ad Manager)

Meta / Facebook & Instagram Ads (Meta Pixel)

  • We may use the Meta Pixel and Conversions API to measure the effectiveness of our advertising, understand actions taken on the Site, and build custom and lookalike audiences for Facebook and Instagram advertising.
  • The Meta Pixel may collect data such as pages visited, buttons/links clicked, device and browser information, and identifiers, which are shared with Meta.
  • Meta Privacy Policy: facebook.com/privacy/policy. Manage ad preferences in your Facebook/Instagram account settings.

Other advertising & programmatic partners

We may also work with other advertising networks, demand-side platforms and analytics/measurement providers (which may include, for example, Microsoft Advertising/Bing, native and push ad networks, and similar programmatic partners). These partners may set their own cookies and use identifiers subject to their own privacy policies. Where required, they are only activated after consent.

7. Affiliate links & tracking

StackVerdict participates in affiliate programs. When you click an affiliate link and make a qualifying action or purchase, the merchant or affiliate network may set a cookie or use tracking parameters to attribute the referral to us and pay us a commission — at no additional cost to you. This tracking is operated by the merchant/affiliate network, and the data collected is governed by their privacy policies. Affiliate links are marked with rel="sponsored nofollow". 8. Third-party services we use

Depending on features in use, we may rely on the following categories of third parties, each with their own privacy practices:

  • Hosting & infrastructure: our web host and Cloudflare (CDN, security). Cloudflare Privacy Policy: cloudflare.com/privacypolicy.
  • Analytics: Google Analytics.
  • Advertising: Google, Meta, and other advertising/measurement partners.
  • Email/newsletter: our email service provider (used to store subscriber emails and send campaigns).
  • Affiliate networks: e.g., Amazon Associates, Impact, ShareASale, CJ, PartnerStack and direct partner programs.
  • Anti-spam / forms: providers used to protect forms and comments from abuse.

If you are in the European Economic Area (EEA) or the United Kingdom, we process personal data under one or more of these legal bases:

  • Consent — for non-essential cookies, advertising, analytics and marketing emails (you may withdraw consent at any time).
  • Legitimate interests — for securing and improving the Site, basic measurement and fraud prevention, balanced against your rights.
  • Contract — to respond to requests you submit.
  • Legal obligation — to comply with applicable law.

10. How we share information

We do not sell your personal information for money. We share information with: service providers and partners listed above (acting on our behalf or as independent controllers for advertising/analytics); advertising and affiliate partners as described; authorities where required by law; and successors in the event of a merger or acquisition. Some advertising “sharing” may be considered a “sale” or “sharing” under certain U.S. laws — see Section 13 for your opt-out rights.

Our partners (including Google and Meta) may process data in countries outside your own, including the United States. Where personal data is transferred internationally, we and our partners rely on appropriate safeguards such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses and applicable adequacy frameworks.

We retain personal data only as long as necessary for the purposes described, then delete or anonymise it. Newsletter data is kept until you unsubscribe. Analytics and advertising data retention is governed by the settings and policies of the respective providers.

13. Your privacy rights (GDPR / UK GDPR / CCPA)

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to: access, correct, delete or port your data; restrict or object to processing; and withdraw consent. If you are in California, you may have the right to know, delete, correct, and to opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information and limit the use of sensitive data. We do not knowingly sell personal information for money. To exercise any right, contact us (Section 19). You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

The Site is not directed to children under 16 (or the minimum age in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect their personal data. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures (including HTTPS/TLS and reputable providers) to protect personal data. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

17. “Do Not Track” & Global Privacy Control

Some browsers offer a “Do Not Track” (DNT) signal or a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal. Where legally required, we honour recognised opt-out preference signals such as GPC. Otherwise, industry standards for DNT are not yet finalised and we may not respond to DNT signals.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be indicated by updating the “Last updated” date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, by a notice on the Site.
